Report: Backstage News On WWE's Plans For Charlotte Flair Vs. Asuka Vs. Bianca Belair Feud

WWE have had plans in place for the Triple Threat feud for a while

A major match is planned for SummerSlam on August 5 that will see Asuka put the WWE Women's Championship on the line against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match. Issues between the three women have only worsened in recent weeks and Bianca Belair got involved in the title match between Flair and Asuka on the June 30 edition of SmackDown which led to the match being ruled a no-contest.

Fightful Select reported that plans for Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Asuka to work a Triple Threat programme have been in place since before Flair returned on the June 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The plan for the feud was to re-establish Asuka on WWE TV and then have the top two talents in the division chase her for the WWE Women's Title instead of the other way around to add more intrigue and suspense to her reign with the gold.

It was noted ahead of Money in the Bank that an internal pitch was for Flair to replace Zelina Vega in the women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. According to Fightful Select, though, the pitch was not seriously considered.

IYO SKY went on to win the ladder match while Zelina Vega was involved in one of the major spots, hitting Zoey Stark with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb onto a ladder bridge.
