Report: WWE Creative Scoff At Vince McMahon's Pitches For Roman Reigns

Vince McMahon's pitches for Roman Reigns failed to impress the WWE creative team

WWE employees are seemingly less than impressed with Vince McMahon.

Roman Reigns has been off WWE TV since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is set to miss the Backlash pay-per-view on May 6. Reigns is expected to return following the event and defend his title at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27.

Who Reigns is in line to face at that event is unknown but Vince McMahon's suggestions don't appear to have gone over well with the WWE creative team. According to WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport, McMahon has pitched several opponents for Reigns' next challenger and a few of them were scoffed at by people on the creative team.

WrestleVotes said: "I was told that Vince McMahon has pitched several ideas for Roman Reigns' next challenger. A few of them were even kind of scoffed at, like that doesn't make any sense."

McMahon is the head of WWE creative, having reasserted himself at the top of the creative process following WWE's sale to Endeavor on Monday, April 3. The 77-year-old has overseen creative since then and he was heavily involved with the Raw after WrestleMania and the April 24 show from the red brand, making last-minute changes to both events. McMahon has made minor changes to WWE's other main roster TV tapings but he has largely focused his attention on booking the main event picture, reports have indicated.
