WWE creative on the Rolling Stone article

Vince McMahon and the culture within WWE under his leadership was at the centre of a Rolling Stone article which detailed what it was like to work for WWE Creative between 2016 and 2022.
Allegations within the Rolling Stone piece included a claim that Vince McMahon created a hostile atmosphere amongst WWE writers, and that female members of the creative team were subjected to inappropriate conduct from their colleagues which was then ignored by human resources. The working conditions of WWE writers would also regularly see them work until 3 am due to creative meetings not beginning until 12 am as they waited around for Vince McMahon.
Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that a member of WWE creative thought the Rolling Stone article was actually "light" on what it was like to work for Vince McMahon.
"It made Vince out to be kind of crazy but yeah, it's all known. I actually like heard from somebody in creative about that and it was kind of like, 'Boy they went light on it.' And I go, 'Yeah [laughs].' The reality was actually far worse. I remember when it was routine when they would have the Thursday meetings and those things would go on until 3 am, and often later, often 3:30, maybe even 4 am. 3 am was kind of normal on a Thursday night and they’re sitting there waiting to talk to Vince for hours and then at midnight the meeting starts," Meltzer said.
Vince McMahon is no longer in a leadership role in WWE, having resigned as TKO Executive Chairman in January after Janel Grant filed a sex trafficking lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.
WWE creative has been headed solely by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H on a full-time basis since the completion of the WWE-UFC merger in September 2023.
