Report: WWE Finalises WrestleMania 40 Card

WWE WrestleMania 40 card has been determined

WWE's WrestleMania 40 plans have had to undergo a number of changes in recent days.

In the fallout from the sex trafficking lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, Brock Lesnar was pulled from the WWE Royal Rumble and his spot in the men's Rumble match was given to Bron Breakker. It is unknown if Lesnar will ever be back on WWE TV but he is not expected to appear on any programming in the near future. CM Punk then sustained a torn triceps in the men's Rumble match, putting him out of action beyond WrestleMania 40.

WWE's original plans called for CM Punk to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 while Brock Lesnar was scheduled to go one-on-one with Gunther, likely for the Intercontinental Title.

It emerged following the Royal Rumble that WWE were making changes to the WrestleMania 40 card, with WrestleVotes claiming that WWE will consider "just about everything" for the Showcase of the Immortals.

In an update, Aaron Varble of SE Scoops has claimed that Triple H, Bruce Prichard, WWE executives, and members of the creative team had a meeting at the Royal Rumble to discuss WrestleMania. Further discussions then took place on Sunday and the new WrestleMania lineup has been determined.

Talent and the rest of the creative team had not been told the new lineup as of Wednesday night. WWE creative will be fully informed of the new WrestleMania plans later this week.

Current matches rumoured for WrestleMania 40 include Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes II, Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch, and IYO SKY vs. Bayley.
