Report: WWE Focused On Adding Younger Talent To Raw & SmackDown

WWE reportedly planning a youth drive for Raw & SmackDown

WWE are reportedly planning on adding younger talents to the Raw and SmackDown rosters as part of a youth drive.

The report comes from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who suggests that there is a ‘big internal focus’ within WWE on adding some younger faces to their main roster shows. No names have been suggested in terms of brand switches or call-ups despite such reports.

WWE have come under fire from fans on multiple occasions over the past decade for focusing too much on older or part-time stars instead of focusing on youth and building new stars to carry the company forward. WWE have sought to push the likes of Austin Theory, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley amongst others, with the three talents all in their mid-20s and having already tasted championship gold as well as being involved with main event-level angles.

Down in NXT, the likes of Thea Hail, and Roxanne Perez have been gathering tons of on-screen experience, despite having a combined age of 40.
