Report: WWE Higher-Up Addresses Rumoured Hesitancy Around Making Seth Rollins World Heavyweight Champion

Latest on Seth Rollins and his chances of becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion

Seth Rollins is set to face AJ Styles for the new World Heavyweight Championship at the Night of Champions pay-per-view on Saturday, May 27.

Who is set to win the gold has not leaked but reports in recent weeks have indicated that WWE aren't immediately fearful about making Rollins world champion but there could be some hesitancy in the future if he becomes more integrated in Hollywood. The rumours swirled after Seth Rollins was spotted on the set of Captain America: New World Order.

In an update on the situation, WWE higher-ups have vehemently denied to Fightful Select they are hesitant about putting Seth in a prominent spot or role with a world championship.

"I'm not saying who is going to win this weekend, but the idea that this is anything but a positive is an unrealistic way of thinking. I can't speak to how those in charge a year ago would have felt, but now it's seen as a positive, especially with Endeavor aboard. It also wasn't a surprise. Colby (Lopez, Seth Rollins) is an exceptional talent and we expect these opportunities to come his way. We were made aware that the situation was happening, and he's already done filming. We had planned out the sit-down interviews to make up for his absence and it's full speed ahead," a WWE higher-up told Fightful.

Furthermore, Rollins was actually considered to walk into WrestleMania 39 as a world champion but the decision was made not to split the titles at the time.
