Report: WWE Hoping To Resume Live Events By The End Of Summer

Early planning has already begun...

Since early March, all WWE programming including Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT has been taped behind closed doors at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has also prevented the company from running any house shows as large gatherings remain prohibited in much of the United States.

The company is hoping to resume live events by August, however, as Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported WWE is already in the very early stages of planning for resuming house shows. Johnson noted the wrestling behemoth's plans have been described as "day to day" but the August date is considered somewhat premature as much of their live event staff remain furloughed.

When WWE will run shows in front of live crowds remains to be seen. A small group of "diehard" fans were able to attend yesterday's TV tapings but the company is hoping to have their first large crowd at SummerSlam on August 23. Vince McMahon is also reportedly "determined" to have fans in attendance for The Biggest Party Of The Summer.
