Report: WWE Impressed By W. Morrissey's AEW Debut

W. Morrissey took on Wardlow on AEW Dynamite

W. Morrissey capped off an impressive return year to wrestling with his AEW debut, with the IMPACT star losing to Wardlow in singles action on Dynamite earlier this week.

Despite the loss, Morrissey looked strong, and a report from Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast’s Andrew Zarian stated that WWE were impressed by the former Big Cass’ performance:

“I got a couple of messages about him from people. People wanting to know when his contract ends,” said Zarian, before adding later in the show: “I’m not gonna say that WWE is gonna take him but I can tell you that WWE is definitely impressed by him. There’s no way around it, man. I got a message last night while he’s coming out and somebody wrote, ‘Did you see this F'N guy?'"

Morrissey has turned his life around since his WWE release, overcoming issues with addiction, before getting himself in tremendous shape ahead of a dominant run in IMPACT, with the former NXT star challenging for the IMPACT World Championship at Hard To Kill 2022.
