Report: WWE Management Have 'Bad Feelings' Towards CM Punk

Latest on CM Punk to WWE

Some within WWE management still harbour "bad feelings" towards CM Punk, as do elements of the WWE locker room.

When comparing the chances of Matt Riddle going to AEW and CM Punk returning to WWE, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio: "From a locker room, a disruptive situation, that those are leagues apart, you know, Riddle and Punk. There are a lot of people with bad feelings about Punk and management in WWE. There's nobody with bad feelings in management on Matt Riddle and AEW."

Reports in early September noted following CM Punk's AEW firing that he still had major heat with top WWE names. Punk left WWE in tumultuous circumstances back in 2014, with the company sending him termination papers on his wedding day. Punk has held talks with WWE over the past nine years, though, including wanting to return to the organisation in late 2022

Punk is currently a free agent, having been fired by All Elite Wrestling with cause following a backstage altercation at All In with Jack Perry. Punk also had multiple confrontations with AEW CEO Tony Khan.

WWE President Nick Khan recently said about a potential Punk return: "Listen, we only have respect for Phil [Brooks]. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best."

Punk did recently tease a WWE return, stating that he was free for "two months." WWE Survivor Series is scheduled to air from Chicago, Illinois in November.
