Report: WWE NXT's Mercedes Martinez Discharged From Hospital

Martinez is hopefully on the mend

Mercedes Martinez has been discharged from hospital, according to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.

Martinez teamed with Jake Atlas against Xia Li and Boa on Tuesday's NXT but the 21-year veteran suffered an injury during the climax of the match.

Xia Li hit Martinez with a Roundhouse Kick, which knocked the 40-year-old out. Martinez got her shoulder up following a pin attempt, but the referee quickly called for the bell after checking on the Superstar.

It emerged after NXT that Martinez was checked over backstage and was then taken to hospital for further evaluation.

Dave Meltzer has since reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Martinez suffered a concussion and she is now out of the hospital.

"She was out of the hospital, but they did take her to the hospital She did have a concussion... A concussion could be she might be fine to wrestle next week and she might not be fine in six months. You never know and you don't know the day after. She's fine in the sense of she's fine. But how quick she's going to heal, concussions are unpredictable," Meltzer said.

There is no word on how long Martinez will be out of action.
