Report: WWE Offered Steve Austin Another Match
The new WWE regime are actively trying to get Stone Cold back in the squared circle
WWE have offered Steve Austin a return to the ring, according to a new report.
Fightful Select noted that WWE wants The Texas Rattlesnake to wrestle one more match for the company. Additionally, while the Vince McMahon regime hoped that Austin would wrestle again, the new regime headed by Paul 'Triple H' Levesque had actually made an offer to Stone Cold for another match.
Fightful's sources weren't sure whether the offer was for a match at one of WWE's Saudi Arabia shows, WrestleMania or somewhere else. Their sources presumed it would be for the forthcoming WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, but wouldn't confirm that or any potential opponents.
Another source indicated that WWE and Austin were currently 'far apart' on terms.
The WWE Hall of Famer returned to the ring earlier this year, wrestling Kevin Owens in an 'impromptu' No Holds Barred match in the main event of WrestleMania 38 (Night One).
It was Austin's first match since losing to The Rock at WrestleMania XIX nineteen years earlier. Austin was said to have enjoyed the experience of performing at WrestleMania 38 and was open to wrestling more after.
