Report: WWE Planning To Reveal The SmackDown Hacker
Months after the angle was dropped...
Oct 19, 2020
During the early months of 2020, the SmackDown Hacker infiltrated WWE and gathered key information on Superstars. The hacker also commandeered old WWE social media accounts and posted numerous teasers on Twitter, but it's most high profile leak came when they revealed Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler had concocted a plan to keep Many Rose and Otis apart.
The character was rarely seen after Money In The Bank, though, and the angle was dropped completely soon after.
Many suspected Mustafa Ali was the hacker and Dave Meltzer previously noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE planned to unveil the former Heart Of 205 Live as the mystery man before the storyline was dropped.
According to Fightful Select, the plan as of this morning was to finally reveal the RETRIBUTION leader as the SmackDown Hacker during a promo on tonight's episode of Raw. The past storyline wasn't planned to be a focal point of the RETRIBUTION angle but it being mentioned on the red brand was pitched as a way the company can "tie up loose ends."
