Report: WWE Reaction To CM Punk Daring Drew McIntyre To Say 'Vince McMahon' On Raw

There were many highlights and water cooler moments from CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins’ heated promo segment on the March 25 edition of WWE Raw, but none were more headline grabbing than CM Punk daring McIntyre to mention Vince McMahon by name.

During the segment, Punk brought up McIntyre’s past as 'The Chosen One’ with McIntyre serving as McMahon’s hand-picked project on WWE TV during Drew’s original run in 2009. Punk then tried goading McIntyre into revealing who exactly ‘chose him’, with McIntyre smirking throughout. 

Whilst reports have stated that the entire promo segment was loosely planned, Punk’s line about McMahon was allegedly not planned per a report from Wade Keller on PWTorch. Keller states that Punk has received no heat or pushback from WWE for alluding to the disgraced McMahon, with Punk quickly moving on from his point whilst making it clear enough to be a gotcha moment to intensify the segment, and the burgeoning feud between him and McIntyre.

However, whilst WWE are seemingly fine with Punk ‘walking right up to the line’ Keller suggests it remains to be seen if top executives in TKO will feel the same way.
