Report: WWE Set For Saudi Arabia Return Later This Year

Their last event was in February 2020

WWE will reportedly make their return to Saudi Arabia for an event later this year.

WWE have been unable to visit Saudi Arabia, as per their ten-year 'strategic multi-platform partnership' with the country, which was agreed in 2018, during the COVID-19 Pandemic. WWE's last event in Saudi Arabia was Super ShowDown back in February 2020.

However, as the world recovers from coronavirus and begins to open back up, PWInsider is reporting that there are tentative plans within WWE to resume the agreement with Saudi Arabia.

One source is reported as saying the early expectation is for WWE to return to Saudi Arabia for an event in the Autumn, although a definitive date has not been determined. It is believed that WWE will only run one event in the country this year, as opposed to their usual two.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lifted some of their COVID-19 restrictions back in late May, and media reports from the country suggest that they are serious about opening back up for concerts and sporting events.
