Report: WWE Still Leaking AEW's Fast National Ratings

WWE still seemingly trying to make AEW look bad

The competition between WWE and AEW continues.

It emerged back in 2021 that WWE were leaking the fast national ratings for AEW Rampage to news outlets, with the figures being reported by some. However, the figures would only be released when the show had a bad week.

Fast national ratings emerge ahead of a final rating from Nielsen and are typically lower than the final viewership figure.

WWE began the practice back in 2021 but they haven't stopped, with Dave Meltzer noting on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW Collision - AEW's Saturday night show - must have performed well in the ratings on October 14 since no fast national rating was reported on by certain news outlets.

Meltzer has since confirmed on the F4W Online Board that WWE are still leaking fast nationals on certain weeks to some news outlets.

Meltzer wrote: "The only source for fast nationals on cable is WWE because contrary to popular belief, they are more intense on studying ratings than anyone. AEW doesn't even get them. When an AEW number is bad, they will release them to the 'reporters' who are the ones doing the AEW hit pieces regularly. If the AEW number is good, somehow the number doesn't get out until the finals come out..."

AEW Collision on October 14 averaged 504,000 viewers and approximately 185,000 in the key 18-49 demographic for a 0.14 rating, according to Wrestlenomics. The show was up 43% in total viewership and up 54% in the key demo from the October 7 episode of Collision.
