Report: WWE Talent's Reaction To Vince McMahon Investigation Revealed
Were WWE talent told about the investigation ahead of time?
Dave Meltzer, speaking on the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, has provided some insight into how WWE talent reacted to news of the recent allegations levied against Vince McMahon.
Per Meltzer: "Talent didn't know. Talent didn't know anything at all, this all hit them at the same time it hit us and they don't really know what to make of it. They're all asking questions obviously. Same questions that we're all asking and again, what happens if Vince is gone? Who's in charge? Where does the thing go?".
McMahon was accused of paying a departing employee a secret $3 million settlement after an alleged affair, in a piece published by the Wall Street Journal. The settlement - signed in January 2022 - prohibits the employee from speaking about her relationship with McMahon and from disparaging him.
In response to the story, a Special Committee of the WWE board are investigating the alleged misconduct by McMahon and Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis. Vince McMahon has also stepped back as WWE CEO and Chairman until the investigation is complete, with Stephanie McMahon replacing him on an interim basis.
