Report: WWE Talent Worried About Releases Following Nick Khan Interview

Nick Khan causes concern about releases amongst WWE talents

WWE is expected to make major cuts following the company's merger with UFC by the end of 2023, with WWE CEO Nick Khan revealing as much in a recent interview in which he stated that cutbacks would be "aggressive."

Khan noted the cuts wouldn't affect WWE TV but the interview has still "led to a lot of concern among talent", Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The concern largely rests with talent who were brought back by Triple H in 2022 after he was appointed Chief Content Officer, with a number of former talents, including Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Emma, Johnny Gargano, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and Karrion Kross all making their way back to WWE in the second half of last year.

WWE haven't cut any talent since Triple H became Chief Content Officer but releases had become a common occurrence in recent years under Vince McMahon.

The latest report comes after it was revealed there was "bubbling paranoia" amongst talents that Triple H re-signed as Vince McMahon has re-established himself as the head of creative since the Raw after WrestleMania 39.
