Report: WWE Talents Exploring Their Options In Case Vince McMahon Remains Heavily Involved With Creative

Vince McMahon remaining involved with creative could lead to WWE departures

WWE's pool of talent may well grow smaller depending on Vince McMahon's future role in creative.

It has certainly been a historic week for WWE, with WrestleMania 39 having broken several records over the weekend before it was announced on Monday that a deal had been agreed for WWE to be sold to Endeavor. WWE will merge with UFC under a new parent company later this year and Vince McMahon will be involved in the new organisation as Executive Chairman.

Not only that but Vince McMahon is once again in charge of creative, according to reports, and he was in charge of the Raw after WrestleMania 39 taping on April 3.

McMahon's sudden involvement with Raw - only hours after he said he wouldn't be "in the weeds" - caused a great amount of frustration amongst WWE talent, Fightful Select reported, especially as McMahon made changes right after a WWE meeting in which talent were assured nothing would be changing. Several talents weren't necessarily annoyed about the changes that McMahon made, but there was frustration at "the entire dishonesty of the situation considering that over a dozen of these people had previously been fired under Vince McMahon."

McMahon's creative changes were considered demoralising by many as the 77-year-old being back in charge came after several months of successful TV and a successful WrestleMania. Several women also grew frustrated at the multiple changes to the women's division's plans on Raw, with a number one contender's tournament for the Raw Women's Championship scrapped in favour of a Women's Tag Team Title number one contenders' match. Bayley was also pulled from Raw at the last minute.

Overall, Fightful Select reported that Monday was "the biggest hit to morale since Vince McMahon left his spot last year, and probably the lowest point of morale in totality since pre-WrestleMania in 2022 when it reached near all-time lows."

The situation could also lead to some WWE departures, with Fightful reporting that multiple wrestlers are already exploring to see what their options would be in case Vince McMahon remains steadily involved with creative. One talent near the top of the card also claimed they would likely request their release if the current trend continues, while another stated they would just ride out their current contract.
