Report: WWE To Possibly Delay Extending SmackDown To Three Hours
WWE SmackDown may not be three hours straight away in 2025
Dec 6, 2024
WWE could be set to delay their plans to extend SmackDown to three hours.
Reports in recent months have noted that WWE are planning to move SmackDown to three hours from the beginning of 2024. WWE may not make the change in the first week of January, though, and WrestleVotes noted on WrestleVotes Radio that the change could instead be made later in the month.
"We did mention here on WrestleVotes Radio in the past SmackDown will be moving to three hours. However, that isn't a guarantee to be starting the same week as Raw moves to Netflix now. We are hearing the plan is still to extend SmackDown to three hours this coming January, however it is to be determined if it will go down in the first week of 2025 when Raw shifts or later in the month," WrestleVotes said.
SmackDown will reportedly only be a three-hour series until mid-May. Outside of sporadic special episodes, SmackDown has traditionally been a two-hour show.
WWE Raw, meanwhile, will reportedly become a three-hour show once again when the Monday night show moves to Netflix from January 6.
