Report: WWE To Revive Payback For August 30 Pay-Per-View

One week after SummerSlam...

Back at Payback 2017, Chris Jericho defeated Kevin Owens to win the United States Championship, Bray Wyatt vanquished Randy Orton in a House Of Horrors match, and Braun Strowman outlasted Roman Reigns in the main event.

WWE hasn't held another Payback show since but WrestleVotes recently reported the company is reviving the event for an August 30 pay-per-view. The company won't have long to build to the show, however, as it comes only one week after SummerSlam 2020.

WrestleVotes tweeted: "For whatever reason, WWE has added an additional PPV to the schedule, ONE week after SummerSlam. Payback will take place August 30th."

Rumours of an August 30 WWE event have been around for some time as Sean Ross Sapp previously noted the wrestling behemoth had discussed broadcasting a WWE Network special the week after SummerSlam 2020, but no plans had been finalised.

PWUnlimited then provided additional details and revealed two options that had been discussed were Evolution 2 and spreading The Biggest Party Of The Summer out over two weeks.
