Report: WWE Tried To Get Megan Thee Stallion To Appear At SummerSlam
WWE were unable to tie down a deal

WWE's attempts to recruit celebrities to appear at SummerSlam on August 21 resulted in multiple failures, according to a new report.
While part-time stars like John Cena and Goldberg have been drafted in for The Biggest Party Of The Summer, WWE also wanted a celebrity presence on the show.
Fightful Select reported WWE first hoped Cardi B would be involved at SummerSlam in some capacity, and used 'Up' as the theme song for the event. The singer's pregnancy ended their hopes, though.
WWE also reached out to rapper Megan Thee Stallion and she was scheduled to be in a spot with SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair. The company thought her appearance was a "done deal" but WWE were told last weekend that it wouldn't be going ahead. Why this was the case is currently unknown.
It has also emerged that WWE tried and failed to work out a deal for Mike Tyson to voice the opening video package for the August 21 pay-per-view. Tyson has been active in the wrestling world over the last year, making appearances in All Elite Wrestling alongside Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle.
