Report: WWE "Very High" On Shawn Michaels

He would be a shock firing

While WWE NXT has undergone wholesale changes in recent months, particularly behind the scenes where several major figures who were perceived to be 'Triple H guys' like Road Dogg and William Regal have been released.

One figure who has remained, though, is Vice President Of Talent Development Shawn Michaels and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are "very high" on the Hall Of Famer.

"It's interesting because it's basically Shawn Michaels' thing right now, is this new NXT. When he was brought in, it was never to be this. He was brought in to be a coach, but now he's pretty much 'the guy', and they're very high on him right now as far as his work," Meltzer said.

"When they got rid of everybody that was Levesque's (Triple H's) guys - they didn't get rid of everyone who was Levesque's guys but they got rid of a lot of people who were Levesque's guys... they're not gonna fire Shawn Michaels, at all. That would beyond stun me. Especially right now, because they're very high on him right now."

Michaels previously spent much of his time working as a coach at the Performance Center but he has become more involved with NXT creative and helping produce the Tuesday night TV show in recent years.

Michaels' role on the development brand has only increased further in recent months since Triple H took time off following a cardiac event and The Heartbreak Kid is one of the key figures in WWE developmental.
