Much to be decided

Plans for the WrestleMania 38 card have already changed dramatically over the past six weeks, but further changes may well be on the way.

Original plans for The Showcase Of The Immortals would have seen Seth Rollins walk into AT&T Stadium as WWE Champion but that was scrapped ahead of Day 1 after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19, with Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Title at the January 1 pay-per-view instead.

Plans then moved on for Rollins and he was scheduled to face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania but those plans were also nixed after the WWE Chairman's only son was "out" of the company following his behaviour at the Royal Rumble.

Charlotte Flair was also originally expected to face Sasha Banks at 'Mania but the SmackDown Women's Champion will defend her gold against Ronda Rousey instead. Meanwhile, the always-planned Universal Title match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar could become a Title vs. Title contest.

With so much up in the air ahead of WrestleMania, WrestleVotes noted the card for The Show of Shows remains "in complete flux" and WWE requires a "major attraction" match following Shane McMahon's departure.

"Source states the spot Shane McMahon was going to have on the WrestleMania card was to be positioned near the top. Therefore, WWE now needs a new 'major attraction' matchup outside of the titles. This goes w/o saying, but the WM card is still in complete flux. It's quite amazing," WrestleVotes tweeted.

How WWE will fill the gap on the card left by Shane remains to be seen but Sami Zayn has continued his feud with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, a programme that may well lead to a big celebrity match at WrestleMania.
