Report: WWE's Plans For NXT At 2020 Royal Rumble Revealed

NXT's involvement on the main roster is set to increase...

At Survivor Series, NXT emerged victorious in the battle for brand supremacy, gaining four wins over Raw and SmackDown. The yellow brand's Superstars were also featured prominently during the pay-per-view, as Shayna Baszler defeated Becky Lynch and Bayley in a Triple Threat match, while Keith Lee made it to the final two in the men's elimination match before being pinned by Roman Reigns.

While WWE announced that a hard brand split would be in place after Survivor Series, their current plans for the Royal Rumble seemingly contradict this. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained that WWE's current plans would give NXT 10 spots in the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches.

For the avoidance of doubt, Alvarez said: "The plan was Royal Rumble men's and women's to be 30 spots, 10 spots to Raw, 10 spots to SmackDown, 10 spots to NXT, that was the plan."

While there will be no NXT TakeOver event before the Royal Rumble in 2020, Worlds Collide will take place on January 25th. The show will feature NXT and NXT UK Superstars, so they will be in the Houston area for the Royal Rumble.
