Revealed: How Long WWE Were Interested In Signing Jade Cargill

WWE have had their eye on the AEW star for a while now...

WWE have been interested in signing Jade Cargill at least since July, according to a report by Fightful Select, which states:

"WWE has long had interest, but some within WWE had heard of interest back in July, and several associated with her teased that “big moves could be coming,” though they didn’t outright say what those moves would be. There were several people close to her that were being coy about her future plans, not outright mentioning WWE, however, higher ups in AEW were aware of the plans to jump to WWE."

This would have been during Jade's extended break from AEW, which came when her 500+ day TBS title reign was finally ended. At this year's Double or Nothing event in May, Cargill successfully defended her championship against Taya Valkyrie, only to immediately accept a challenge from the returning Kris Statlander and lose the belt in under a minute.

While the manner of losing the title may have protected Cargill slightly - given the fact she wrestled one opponent immediately after the other - she wasn't seen on AEW TV until this month, where she returned to attack Statlander and go after the TBS Championship once again. Kris again beat her on last week's Rampage, and Jade is now widely believed to be heading to WWE. She would be the second signed AEW talent to do so, after AEW founding member Cody Rhodes.
