Revealed: Sonny Kiss' Reaction To Her AEW Departure

While signed as an AEW original back in 2019, Sonny Kiss departed All Elite Wrestling in recent weeks after the promotion opted not to renew her contract. Tony Khan cited AEW's large roster as the reason for Kiss' exit but the company CEO didn't rule out bringing Kiss back in the future. 

Kiss has since appeared on Busted Open Radio and she admitted she was shocked when AEW informed her in late August that her deal wasn't being renewed. 

Kiss said: "When I got the call, I was shocked. Every single time I got sent to TV, I was there hours before doors opened. I worked my ass off every single week to make sure that this didn't happen. So, it's heartbreaking, 100 percent. I would beg sometimes to go to TV. 'Can I go just to train with Dustin, please?'"

The 29-year-old hadn't wrestled for either AEW or Ring of Honor since an ROH TV taping on July 22. Kiss has remained active on the independents, though, and she is planning to work as many indies as possible now that she is a free agent. Kiss may also have a future in IMPACT Wrestling as Tommy Dreamer told her to text him following Busted Open Radio. Tommy Dreamer is part of the IMPACT creative team as well as an on-screen talent.
