REVEALED: Why Britt Baker Was On AEW TV Less In 2023

Why Britt Baker had less AEW screen time in 2023

After cementing herself as the top star in All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division, Britt Baker was conspicuous by her absence for much of 2023, with the former AEW Women’s World Champion having not wrestled on TV since mid-September.

Baker’s absence caused many fans to speculate that she was working with the mysterious Devil - later revealed to be Baker’s boyfriend Adam Cole - whilst Baker herself showed apparent frustration with her booking on social media.

In a recent interview with Ring the Belle, Baker was asked why she didn’t feature on AEW TV as much in 2023, with Baker saying the following:

“I think with our very passionate fans, they're very vocal with what they want, what they don't want, what they like, what they don't like. And we listen - I listen. So if they are telling me they want more or less of something, then ok, I hear you loud and clear. And a lot of them said, 'We want less Britt Baker.' So if that's what they want, ok that's what they'll get. Let me take a step back. Here's the rest of the women. Someone else take the ball and run with it and make the women's division about you, and you be the face of the women's division. And when no one else can do that, I'll be there to pick up the pieces and do it all over again,” said Baker.

Baker only managed one AEW PPV appearance in 2023, a loss during the AEW Women’s World Championship four-way at All In in August. Reports in later 2023 stated that Baker was dealing with a minor back injury.
