Rey Mysterio Booked For Next Week's WWE NXT
The 619 will visit NXT.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio will follow his son Dominik to WWE's so-called third brand.
As announced on last night's edition of NXT, Rey will be in the corner of Dragon Lee when he challenges Dirty Dom for the NXT North American Championship on August 8. Rhea Ripley had agreed to the match on Dominik's behalf.
Rey's in-ring status is currently uncertain after he suffered an injury on last Friday's episode of SmackDown. The 48-year-old reportedly got his bell rung during his United States Title number one contender's match with fellow LWO member Santos Escobar. The match was stopped prematurely and Escobar was awarded the victory.
Several other matches and segments were also set up for next week's show on last night's episode of NXT.
Bron Breakker will take on Von Wagner, Noam Dar will 'defend' his imposter Heritage Cup against Tyler Bate, Mustafa Ali will clash with Axiom, Ilja Dragunov will tangle with Trick Williams, and Tiffany Stratton will return.
