Rey Mysterio Signs Two-Year WWE Contract

that Rey Mysterio has signed a two-year deal to return to WWE. The former World Heavyweight Champion had initially wanted to sign an 18-month contract, however, after some negotiation WWE got the two-year deal they were looking for.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider broke the news a short while ago and has confirmed that Mysterio has worked a clause into the deal that allows him to break at the 18-month mark, should he wish to.
The report also claims that Rey is now preparing for his big return and is just waiting for the company to manoeuvre him back into their storylines on either Raw or SmackDown Live.
A WWE return for Mysterio has seemingly become more of an inevitability as the months have gone on. Since making a shock return as part of the 2018 men's Royal Rumble match, followed up by an outing at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April, rumours surrounding a permanent return have refused to go away.
These rumours online only intensified when Rey was revealed to be a pre-order bonus for WWE 2K19, with
Wrestling Standard reporting in Julythat a two-year agreement between Rey and WWE had been reached. While that didn't prove to be true back then, it certainly has now.
It has been a busy year for the master of the 619, as on top of his WWE outings, he's also appeared for New Japan Pro Wrestling, AAA in Mexico, now-defunct British promotion 5 Star Wrestling and more. The 43-year-old shows absolutely no signs of nearing the end of an illustrious career.
