Rhea Ripley has finally overcome Charlotte Flair, with ‘The Eradicator’ defeating ‘The Queen’ to lift the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE WrestleMania 39.

The two engaged in a back-and-forth affair featuring plenty of nearfalls, but the tide swung into Rhea’s favour after Flair missed a shoulder barge on the outside and crashed into the ringsteps. Despite taking everything Ripley threw at her Flair kept coming, evading a Riptide and absorbing a nasty German suplex before crushing Ripley on the floor with a textbook Moonsault press.

Ripley thought she had the match won after hitting Riptide but Flair got her shoulder up in the nick of time, with Flair coming close after fighting out of the Prison Lock and hitting a stiff spear for a nearfall of her own. After making her way out of the Figure Eight, Ripley managed to fight to the top rope before crushing Flair with an avalanche RipTide to get the big win.

With this win, Rhea Ripley adds the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship to her trophy haul, having previously held the NXT, RAW, NXT UK, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. For Flair, her seventh run with the SmackDown Women’s Championship has ended at 89 days, having won the title from Ronda Rousey on December 30.
