Ric Flair Acknowledges Fake Heart Attack During Last Match

Ric Flair has acknowledged the controversial moment from his last match

Ric Flair has acknowledged that he 'faked' a heart attack during his last match and that the spot might have been in poor taste.

During his last match on July 31 - where he teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal - The Nature Boy clutched his chest and began crying out at ringside, only to poke Lethal in the eye.

Speaking to the New York Post, Flair claimed he called the spot in order to get the match 'back on track', but that he realises it wasn't in the best taste.

"I did that on my own", Flair said. "I told the referee [to tell] Jeff Jarrett to slow down. Boom, bring it back down and lay the rest of the match out. And we did that. That was an audible to get everybody back on the same track — slow down, I'm fine. It was not the plan. It was not in good taste. I realise that. It was the only thing that was going to keep everybody from going right to the finish", he added

Though the heart attack was faked, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer later admitted to passing out twice during the bout. Jarrett and event promoter Conrad Thompson have both said they had attempted to talk Flair out of the spot.
