Rick Boogs Scheduled For American Gladiators

Eric Bugenhagen, best known as former WWE star Rick Boogs, is set to be involved in the upcoming revival of the American Gladiators TV show.

Fightful Select reported that not only Bugenhagen, but former TNA and current OVW star Jessie Godderz is set to be involved also.

A number of other wrestlers are planned for American Gladiators, with announcements expected in the coming weeks. WWE star The Miz is set to host the show.

Boogs was released by WWE in September 2023. He subsequently claimed his release was the result of a backstage powerplay and blamed the removal of Vince McMahon for 'killing' his WWE career.

Bugenhagen announced his retirement from wrestling in January 2024. His last match came at SummerSlam 2023, where he was a participant in a battle royal won by LA Knight.

American Gladiators originally ran between 1989 and 1996. It saw amateur athletes compete against each other and the so-called Gladiators in a series of challenges focusing on strength and agility. The reboot will bring back old challenges such as The Gauntlet and The Eliminator. It is set to air on Amazon Prime Video with a release date to be determined.
