Rick Boogs Suffers Apparent Injury At WWE WrestleMania 38

During WrestleMania's opening bout

Rick Boogs suffered an apparent knee injury during the opening match of WrestleMania 38 in Dallas on Saturday night.

Boogs was teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura in a challenge of SmackDown Tag Team champions The Usos. At one juncture, Boogs had lifted both Jimmy and Jey Uso onto his shoulders, but all three men ended up crashing to the mat in a heap, at which point Boogs grabbed for his right leg.

With Boogs hurt, the Usos worked over Nakamura two on one. Nakamura managed to kick out of an Uso splash, but was subsequently superkicked by Jimmy, and then quickly finished with the 3D, ending what was only a seven minute match.

After the match, Boogs was helped from the ringside area by several trainers, with his right knee pad pulled down. Due to the early and abrupt finish, WWE began filling for time with an extended look at some of the upcoming matches over the two-day event.

UPDATE: Michael Cole revealed that Boogs tore his quadricep patella and will require surgery.
