Since Bron Breakker’s debut and subsequent rise on NXT 2.0, fans have been clamouring for WWE to acknowledge Breakker’s lineage, with Breakker being the son of the legendary Rick Steiner.

Now, per a report from TalkSport’s Alex McCarthy, WWE reportedly had plans in place for Steiner to appear at Halloween Havoc, where Breakker unsuccessfully challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship.

McCarthy Tweeted that he had spoken with Ciampa on a press junket, with The Blackheart confirming the news:

“Tommaso Ciampa told me that Rick Steiner was planned to appear at Halloween Havoc last month, but he pulled out last minute. If WWE are going to show who Bron Breakker’s dad is, just leaaaaan into the name”

Breakker was allegedly set to take the name Rex Steiner before his debut, with plans changed in the run-up to the debut edition of NXT 2.0. Despite not being acknowledged as a Steiner on screen, Breakker’s ring gear is blatantly patterned on The Steiner Brothers from their heyday, whilst his promo delivery is eerily similar to that of his notorious uncle, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner.
