Ricky Starks On Attending WrestleMania 40: "I Don't Believe In That Tribalism BS"

Ricky Starks doesn't like the tribalism surrounding his attendance at WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 40 saw a sea of celebration both inside the Lincoln Financial Field and around the world too, and one of those seen enjoying the victory was AEW’s Ricky Starks, who was spotted in attendance at the show to support his friend Rhodes.

This has led to speculation about Ricky Starks’ status in AEW, though the man himself has shot down the notion that his attendance was anything other than being there for his friend, and also to see Jade Cargill wrestle her first match at WrestleMania. When speaking with WhatCulture Wrestling, Starks commented on how he felt being there, and the tribalism that comes out from things like that.

“I loved it. I have no problem with supporting friends at other companies and all that stuff. I don’t believe in that tribalism bullshit. You got people who’ve never been in wrestling that try to push that agenda, but I don’t care. When I went to go see Cody at the Rumble, someone leaked the security footage. It’s not like I was trying to be seen. Someone leaked that footage. It was so bizarre, so weird.”

Starks downplayed the significance of instances such as him being at WrestleMania, noting that he is allowed to have friends, regardless of what company they work for. He also recently spoke about how the fact that he is not being used on AEW programming, and is unsure why this is the case.
