Ricochet’s last several months have seen him part ways with WWE and then join AEW, being a part of several acclaimed matches and undergoing a well-received heel turn that has propelled him up the card. This is in stark contrast to his last few months in WWE, which saw him crowned as the inaugural WWE Speed Champion, in what many fans saw as a relegation.

In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Ricochet reflected on his time competing on WWE Speed, but claimed he saw it as an opportunity.

“No (I was not offended by being booked on WWE Speed)… You got to look at everything as an opportunity and if you don’t, then I think you’re already kind of defeated. You have to look at everything — especially, you know, they were putting something into this and I wanted to be a part of, again, building something. Building something and making it as big as possible. I like that feeling and so, again, any opportunity you get, you gotta strike and that’s kind of the way I see it and that’s with everything. Life, wrestling, everything.”

Ricochet’s recent match with Swerve Strickland at AEW Revolution was praised, but Strickland reportedly came out with a busted eardrum.
