Jey uso september 2024 new intercontinental title

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi believes his son Jey Uso lost the Intercontinental Title too soon.

Rikishi spoke of how proud he was after Jey won his first singles title, but his tone has changed after Uso dropped the title back to Bron Breakker on the October 21 episode of Raw (ending his reign at 27 days).

"Too soon. Too soon. If I'm the promoter and I'm only speaking business-wise. Yes, finally Jey had gotten his flowers with the belt, so rightfully earned and deserving, now we got it on this kid here who's well over... It is through the roof as far as notoriety. He's got merchandise with every city he goes to. From a marketing standpoint view, you're only gonna [do better business] if you leave it on this kid.it's about numbers. It's about revenues. For me, I would've protected this character of 'Yeet' a lot longer".

The 59-year-old has been critical of his son's WWE booking in the past, previously complaining when Jey didn't win the 2024 men's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Jey could be heading back to the tag division after reuniting with twin brother Jimmy on last week's edition of SmackDown.
