WWE Hall Of Famer Rikishi has been very outspoken about the booking and treatment of his son Jey Uso in WWE throughout 2024, criticising his lack of singles success and the tease of a relationship with Rhea Ripley - the latter of which he has accused WWE of trying to break up his son’s marriage.

In recent weeks, Uso scored his first ever singles title in WWE, defeating Bron Breakker to become the brand new Intercontinental Champion. On his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi offered his praise and plaudits to the moment.

"I am so proud. That was a long road. What is it? 15 years or 14 years? You dominate the tag team division and then you finally break off into [singles] competition, not knowing which way it's gonna go. But you see it — the fan favourite."

When speaking on the match between Uso and Breakker, he gave a positive response to both competitors, stating that Scott & Rick Steiner must also be proud of the young star. Rikishi clarified his recent critique of Uso’s booking, remarking that all he wanted was the best for his son in WWE, just like any other father in his situation.
