Speculation has emerged that Rikishi could be set to make an appearance at WWE SummerSlam, with the pay-per-view scheduled to air on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3 from MetLife Stadium.

Rikishi was scheduled to be a part of Wrestlecon in New Jersey on August 1 and August 2, but the WWE Hall of Famer has cancelled his appearances due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Rikishi tweeted: "I regret to announce that I will be unable to attend Wrestlecon New Jersey on August 1-2. I wish I could be there, but due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I will be unable to attend. I look forward to seeing you next time, and I am sure you will all have a great time. #RikishiFatu @gimmicked_promotions @officialwrestlecon."

Rikishi has noted on his podcast that he would be willing to return to WWE to serve as a "Wise Man" for a new Bloodline if it was something the fans wanted. Rikishi has even encouraged fans to take 'Bring Back Rikishi' signs to WWE TV tapings.

Rikishi's son Solo Sikoa will defend the United States Championship against Rikishi's nephew Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage Match at SummerSlam on Sunday, August 3. Rikishi's nephew Roman Reigns and son Jey Uso will also team together against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on night one of SummerSlam.
