Riot Rules Match Set For NJPW Windy City Riot

Eddie Kingston and Gabe Kidd will do battle alongside 6 mystery partners.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling have announced a 'Riot Rules' match for their upcoming Windy City Riot event, set to take place on April 12 in Chicago, Illinois.

The match will feature eight competitors in a four vs. four format, although only two of the competitors are known so far. Eddie Kingston will head up one team, with Gabe Kidd leading the other. The official NJPW website has more information on the bout's rules:

"In this matchup, there are no DQs or countouts, and victory is by pinfall, submission or KO only. The eight man tag will be contested under a tornado format with no tags in or out, and the teams on both sides will be a mystery, only revealed when partners make their entrance."

This bout looks set to continue the feud between Kingston and Kidd, with the two wrestling to a double countout at January's Battle in the Valley event.

Two other matches have been confirmed for Windy City Riot so far:

  • Tetsuya Naito vs. Jon Moxley
  • Hiromu Takahashi vs. Mustafa Ali

The latter bout will be Ali's New Japan debut, the former WWE Superstar having been released from his contract in September 2023
