Roderick Strong's Independent Wrestling Return Confirmed

Roderick Strong will make his first independent wrestling appearance for seven years

Roderick Strong recently shocked the professional wrestling world when he showed up in AEW two weeks ago, debuting on Dynamite to come to the aid of his old Undisputed Era buddy Adam Cole. Many fans believed him to still be under contract with WWE, though it emerged that he had parted ways with the company silently last year.

Not counting matches in the WWE-affiliated EVOLVE promotion, it has been a whole seven years since Strong competed on the independent wrestling scene, last competing in PWG against Timothy Thatcher back in 2016 just three months prior to signing with WWE.

After competing on AEW Dynamite this past week in an eight man tag team match where he teamed up with Adam Cole, Orange Cassidy & Bandido to take on the Jericho Appreciation Society, his return to the independent wrestling scene has been announced. On twitter, it was revealed that Strong would be at Prestige Wrestling’s Black Sunshine event on June 18, though no opponent has yet been announced for Strong’s indy comeback.
