Roderick Strong Wins AEW International Title, Is Confronted By Kyle O'Reilly

A big night for the classic Undisputed Era

Roderick Strong is the new AEW International champion, after defeating Orange Cassidy at AEW Revolution on Sunday night in Greensboro, NC.

Strong spent most of the match working over Cassidy's injured back with multiple variations of the backbreaker. Cassidy wore a large amount of kinesio tape during the match, due to his incurred injuries. In the end, Strong finished Cassidy with the End of Heartache backbreaker to win the title.

After the match, while Strong celebrated with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, a returning Kyle O'Reilly slid into the ring. After teasing an attack on the three, O'Reilly instead hugged Strong. However, when Bennett offered him an Undisputed Kingdom t-shirt, O'Reilly handed it back, whispered something in Strong's ear, and left the ring peacefully.

The win gives Strong his first championship in AEW. He joined the organization in the spring of 2023, aligning himself with Adam Cole.

Cassidy's second reign as AEW International champion ends at 145 days. He won the title from Rey Fenix on October 10 in Kansas City, MO. His prior reign with the title lasted 326 days.
