Ronda Rousey Not Planning To Return To 'Absolute Sh*t Show' WWE

Ronda Rousey roundly criticises WWE, Bruce Prichard & John Laurinaitis

Ronda Rousey hasn't been silent about what she thinks of WWE.

Excerpts from her upcoming memoir, Our Fight, were released this week, with it being revealed that Rousey accuses WWE in her book of having a "foundational sexist, patriarchal culture." She also stated Saudi Arabia restricts women's rights in a way she believes Vince McMahon wishes he could.

Rousey has since appeared on LiveSigning for a 'Never Before Told' session, during which she continued her criticism of WWE and spoke candidly about Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, saying they can "go f*ck themselves." Rousey noted she would have written more about Laurinaitis and Prichard on her "f*ck these old bastards quest" in her book but she was limited by a word count.

"In MMA, I originally just started them (beef) for publicity but, those other b*tches did not get the memo and so they became personal and in WWE, it's all fake, I love them. Except for Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis. They can go f*ck themselves. That’s real. The only thing that really held me back was the number of words I was allowed to have in this book. We were contractually held to 9,000 words and I was going to talk so much more sh*t, especially about John Laurinaitis and Bruce Prichard. But our editor said we had to streamline everything and not take a detour on the f*ck these old bastards quest. So, there was a lot more to it but I had to basically get down to the meat and potatoes in this," Rousey said.

Rousey was previously critical of Bruce Prichard, saying after Vince McMahon's resignation as TKO Executive Chairman that the 78-year-old would continue to retain influence within WWE as long as Bruce Prichard was around.

"Bruce Prichard is basically Vince's avatar, if he's still around Vince still has a hand in the business. Vince was still running things through Bruce when he was 'gone' before," Rousey wrote.

The former Raw Women's Champion expressed further criticism for WWE later in the interview, calling behind the scenes an "absolute sh*t show."

"Another (unexpected thing people can read in my book) is my concussion history that I had to keep secret for years so that I'd be able to continue to compete and perform and is basically why I had to retire and another thing that people don't know, oh God... behind the scenes? Oh yeah. How much of an absolute sh*t show it is at the WWE... they can't hold the sword over my head and hold me hostage with my own career and I don't need anything from them and I don't intend on going back so I can actually say everything that I think and feel where everybody else that is still held captive by their organization cannot," Rousey added.

Following a career in UFC, Ronda Rousey worked for WWE from January 2018 until August 2023 across two runs. She is a multi-time women's champion in the company.

Rousey has since wrestled outside of WWE, having three matches teaming with Marina Shafir on the indies and in Ring of Honor.
