Ryback Not Retiring Despite CM Punk's WWE Return At Survivor Series

Ryback will not be retiring following CM Punk's return

The Ryback sure is a silly goose. In a post on X prior to Survivor Series 2023 last night, he stated that if CM Punk returned (which at that time seemed quite unlikely), he would officially retire from professional wrestling.

CM Punk obviously saw this and got on the phone to Triple H immediately, because he did in fact show up and shock the world following the main event of Survivor Series 2023. Ryback followed this up, amending his statement that he needed to return to AEW, not WWE.

“I will not be retiring. He had to return to AEW and that did not happen.”

All this is of course tongue in cheek. Ryback has not wrestled a match since all the way back in 2018 on an independent show, and previously parted ways with WWE in 2016. Ryback often makes comments or digs when it comes to CM Punk due to their past history of heat with one another, stemming from their time feuding in WWE.
