Sabu 'Doing Better' Following Serious Medical Emergency

Sabu was recently hospitalised due to a serious medical emergency

ECW legend Sabu was recently rushed to hospital following a serious medical emergency, but is said to be ‘doing better’ in an update on his condition.

Sabu was appearing at the Squared Circle Expo in Indianapolis when he suffered the undisclosed medical emergency, and in an update on Twitter, the former ECW World Champion wrote the following:

“Hello everyone I am doing better and thank you for your well wishes”

A stand-out for FMW and ECW during the hardcore wrestling boom of the 1990s, Sabu announced his retirement from in-ring competition in 2021 after over 35 years in the business.

A former ECW World, Tag Team, and FTW Champion, Sabu is also a former NJPW IWGP Jr heavyweight Champion, having held the title for 42 days in 1995.

Although best known for his run as one of ECW’s main draws, Sabu briefly wrestled for WCW during the Monday Night Wars, and would later wrestle for WWE in the mid 2000s, and would appear for TNA amongst other promotions.
