During his first promo since his shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, John Cena blamed those in the crowd for his 'toxic' and 'dysfunctional' relationship with the WWE audience.
On the March 17 Raw, Cena specifically pointed to a young kid in the crowd decked out in Cena merchandise as an example of this type of fan, with WWE's director managing to catch the kid's sad reaction (which then went viral).
A week later, Cena referenced putting a 'clueless kid on blast' during another promo.
Well, that 'clueless kid' has spoken about being the target of Cena's wrath, telling an outlet in Brussels:
"Since I was four years old I have been a fan of John Cena. He's been my hero for ten years now and he's my favourite superstar. I paid to see him. When he pointed at me, it was a source of pride for me that he pointed the finger at me because I didn't know he was going to talk down to me. I understood he said toxic and dysfunctional, but it's in his character as a heel, so I understand. For me, John Cena is still my hero".
WWE reportedly only planned for Cena's first heel promo and confrontation with Cody Rhodes to run for fifteen minutes, but it went over its allotted time and affected other segments planned for the show.
