Sami Zayn seemingly won't be on WWE programming in the near future following Elimination Chamber.

It was announced by Michael Cole on the March 3 edition of Monday Night Raw that Sami Zayn was "out indefinitely" following his Unsanctioned Match with Kevin Owens at Elimination Chamber. Cole announced that Zayn had reaggravated a neck injury, nerve issues, and spinal issues at the March 1 pay-per-view in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Zayn's initial issues stem from a Package Piledriver delivered by Kevin Owens on the post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw.

Sami Zayn ultimately lost his Unsanctioned Match with Kevin Owens, a contest which featured a brawl around the arena, multiple table spots, a couple of ref bumps, and a barbed wire chair. Owens picked up the pinfall win following multiple Apron Powerbombs to Zayn.

Kevin Owens tried to continue the attack post-match with another Package Piledriver but Randy Orton made his return and the save for Zayn, decking KO with an RKO. Orton then attempted to punt Owens but he was stopped from doing so by WWE referees and security.
