Sammy Guevara Releases Message Following AEW Suspension

Sammy Guevara on his AEW suspension

Sammy Guevara has commented on his suspension from All Elite Wrestling.

In a text-only message at the end of his latest vlog, Guevara wrote:

"Thanks for watching. And to the people who support me whether it be from the beginning or in the middle or maybe this is your first video you've watched of mine, I just wanted to say thank you.

"I understand that I am a person who has made mistakes but I am also a person who has tried to be better. 'Roll with the punches' is a saying that I truly understand now at 30 years old. Life will throw a lot at you.

"But it is how you deal with those adversities that make you who you are. I know who I am and I know what I'm going after.

"See you at the top."

Guevara was suspended by AEW over his conduct in his No DQ Match with Jeff Hardy on the February 16 episode of Rampage. The match taped on February 14 featured a botched Shooting Star Press from Guevara which left Hardy with a broken nose. Guevara was suspended as he went on to hit Hardy with the GTH after being told to pin Jeff, meaning the promotion's concussion protocol was not followed.

There has been much sympathy for Guevara since his suspension and the three-time TNT Champion has been defended within All Elite Wrestling, with the argument being there was simply a miscommunication during the final moments of the match. Fans have questioned why the referee or AEW's medical team didn't just wave off the match if Hardy was in concussion protocol.
