Samoa Joe Recalls WWE Feud With Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman In 2017

NXT Champion Samoa Joe has named Brock Lesnar as one of the most incredible athletes he has ever worked with.
Joe and Lesnar feuded over the WWE Title in 2017 in a feud that provided some incredible moments between the two combatants, and Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman. Speaking on the feud with GiveMeSport, Joe said the following:
"They are fond memories. Paul, obviously, he's a genius. We have a great synchronicity when it comes to ideas. He'll say a few words and I know exactly what he means.”
One of the highlights of the feud was Joe calmly and chillingly choking Heyman out, and The Samoan Submission Machine said the moment was inspired by The Godfather:
“That interaction in particular was one of those moments. It was something to the effect of, Michael [Corleone] sits down with Sollozzo [The Godfather] at dinner and they're like, 'Uhh, okay, I got it.' I think that was the entire conversation when we were going over the tone of what we wanted to do.”
As for Lesnar himself, Joe was full of praise for the former WWE and UFC Champion, saying:
“For Brock, an incredible athlete. Probably one of the most incredible athletes I've been in the ring with. Kurt [Angle] being among that pantheon of guys with next level strength and reflex and ability. When he goes out, he wants to be in a fight and wants to be wild and rowdy. I'm more than willing to provide that for him. There is good synchronicity there.”
