WWE has claimed SummerSlam 2021 was the most-watched and highest-grossing SummerSlam in history.

According to the company, SummerSlam was watched by a seven-figure global audience that was a 55 percent increase on 2020's audience and a 29 percent increase from 2019. WWE pay-per-views currently air on Peacock in the United States, a streaming service with 54 million subscribers, and the WWE Network internationally.

WWE has also touted a sell-out crowd of 51,326 for SummerSlam, although Nick Khan noted during his interview with Ariel Helwani that 45,000 were paid tickets.

The increased attendance also resulted in higher merchandise sales and 2021's show saw a 155 percent increase from SummerSlam 2019 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

The 2021 edition of SummerSlam was held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders. The show was headlined by Seth Rollins vs. Edge, John Cena vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title and Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.

Roman Reigns has reacted to WWE's press release, tweeting: "Legitimate needle moving."
